The Sony FX3 is the baby of the Sony Cinema Line camera series and shares both its sensor lineage and colour science with it’s Sony FX6 and FX9 siblings.
Whilst having a similar form factor to DSLR sized cameras such as the A7SII, the Sony FX3 has been designed with cinematic moving image capture as it’s core mission. Video-friendly features of the FX3 include front & rear tally lamps, 1/4-20 mounting points on the camera body and a removeable top handle with industry-standard XLR audio connectors. A fan cooling system also prevents overheating when recording, something that is often an inherent issue when shooting on compact mirrorless type cameras.
The FX3 is also an especially good choice for use as a matching ‘B’ cam when shooting on our Sony FX6 (and even the Sony Venice). Equally, it’s lightweight design makes it useful a useful choice for lightweight gimbal setups.
